01.04.20. 🎉 Worship in Darby End marks it’s 199th birthday!

Today marks 199 years of worship on the site Cole Street stands - the original building, ‘Darby End Wesleyan Chapel’ opening on 1st April 1821. This building would be used as a Chapel and a Sunday School for the next 40 years and stood until 1950 when it was deemed beyond reasonable repair and replaced with today’s building.

Find out more about the history of Cole Street on our website:

Of course, this means next year marks our 200th anniversary - a significant occasion! Keep a look out for details about special occasion once some normality resumes.

Please check our website calendar and our social pages regularly as events and services are changing due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Cole Street has now been connected to the telephone system in preparation for our Internet connection. WiFi connection around the church will be with us very soon!

Details of Lent Studies & Holy Week services can be found on our Circuit Events page.

Thanks to everyone who contributed towards our 'Homeless, Please Help' campaign over Christmas and New Year. £225 was raised with the church rounding this up to £250. This will be donated to local homeless projects.

Thanks to David & Gary who have completed our annual PAT Testing. If you have any personal mains-powered electrical items which you use at Cole Street, please speak to David or Gary if you wish to have these tested.
